Symphonic Orchestra (Period 7th)

Every junior or senior string player is eligible to enroll in 7th Period Symphonic Orchestra, which contains a mixture of juniors and seniors, but NO sophomores. By and large, the group rehearses and performs a little more difficult repertoire than 2nd period; and for the most part, both groups play very well, since quite frequently we spend class time rehearsing the music for our third orchestra, the early morning Bingham Full Symphony, which meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6:00 AM throughout the year (even though we don’t really get started until the 3rd week of September in the Fall). (Incidently, over the years, the string choirs and other small ensembles from 7th period also score Superior and Excellent ratings at our Region and State Solo & Ensemble Festivals.)
