<div>Political participation is one of the most important elements of our democracy.&nbsp; It would be a missed opportunity if you did not engage in government during your time in this class.&nbsp; Your final assignment is an easy one - write a letter to a member of Congress from the state of Utah.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Your letter can address any issue you have with government, it can be critical of actions in Congress or the lack of action in Congress.&nbsp; Start by thinking of something you are passionate about - does it require government action?&nbsp; Is government doing something about it?&nbsp; Use the information you have learned in this class to find an issue you would like your member of Congress to know about.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>You can choose to write a letter to one of your senators or to your district representative.&nbsp; You may click on any of their names below to send your letter to them.&nbsp; You must also email me your letter (IT MUST BE A PDF file) by 3PM on May 28th.&nbsp; (<a href="mailto:carol.shackelford@jordandistrict.org">carol.shackelford@jordandistrict.org</a>)&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Attached are some suggestions on how to format your letter.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><a href="https://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Lee </a></div>
<div><a href="https://www.romney.senate.gov/contact-senator-romney" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mitt Romney&nbsp;</a></div>
