1. Use the 1 page Powerpoint to complete the questions on the WWII timeline (both attached)
2. Watch the clip "WWII Begins"
3. Complete Chapter 24.  If you don't have a book, the pages have been scanned in.

*I have also attached all the World War II movies that may be watched for extra credit for the end of 3rd quarter OR 4th quarter.  As usual, I will ask you one simple plot-related question to verify you watched the film.
Hi US History classes,

Well, it looks like we're in this for the long haul.  But as Rosie the Riveter said, "We can do this!"

For the week of March 23rd to March 27th, here is your work and some announcements:

1- I will still accept extra credit movies this week for 3rd quarter if you'd like, up until Friday.
2- All assignments we do from here on out will go on 4th quarter's grade.
3- Read the Fact Sheets on the 4 Dictators of the 1930s and answer the questions that have been attached.
4- View the Powerpoint on The Homefront and Minorities in WWII (all one) and fill out the guided notes that goes along with them.

As usual, just send me pics of the assignment and notes or just email them to me.
Keep calm and carry on!

Coursework and announcements for the Week of March 30th to April 3rd

1.  There will be nothing assigned next week during Spring Break.
2  For this week you should fill in the guided notes that are attached using the Powerpoint on the Swell 50s, that is also attached.
3.  Watch the documentary 'The Best Years' (link is attached) and fill out the videoguide that goes with it.
4.  I am also attaching extra credit movies that you can watch on this unit (1950s-Present) that will be available for the rest of the year.  I'll still take WWII extra credit movies until May 1st.

Good luck. As usual, email me if you have any questions.
Hi US History classes,

Well, we plod along.  Here is your work for the week of April 13th to April 17th.  This week we'll be focusing on The Cold War.  So you need to:

1.  View the Powerpoint on The Cold War and fill in the guided notes as best you can (both are attached).
*By the way, if you don't have Powerpoint on your computer (like I don't on my laptop at home), I was able to open up my powerpoints from my IPhone (so you may want to try that).
2.  Do the reading on The Cold War and answer the questions that go along with it (both attached).
3.  View the 2 links that I have attached (I have to download them in order to view them from my Edlio page, otherwise I can only get the audio).  One is from Stephen Colbert on the Korean Conflict.  I think it's pretty funny, but that's just me.  The second clip is from the beginning of October Sky (which is a great movie that I am offering for extra credit this quarter) on the launching of Sputnik (clip is only like a minute long).

Good luck and as usual, email me with any questions.

Mr. Boberg
Coursework for April 20th to April 24th

So now we're on to the Civil Rights Movement.  So for this week, view the Powerpoint and fill in the guided notes on The Civil Rights Movement.  Then watch the first 32 minutes of the Documentary Eyes on the Prize: Fighting Back and fill in the short videoguide that goes along with it.  This is about the Little Rock 9.

(link to the video- if this doesn't work, try opening Youtube on your own and type in Eyes on the Prize: Fighting Back.
Coursework for April 27th to May 1st.

Hi US History class,
Most of you are doing really well on staying caught up.  I know it's not easy.  Just to let you know, I will not give any more work after May 22nd.

So this week we're talking about JFK and LBJ and doing a fun vocab assignment.  For this week:

1.  View the Powerpoint on JFK and LBJ and fill in the guided notes that go with them (btw, if you don't want to open up that Youtube link on the Zapruder film and watch Kennedy get shot in the head, you DON'T have to!).
2.  Do the Billy Joel vocab assignment, HOWEVER YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO 12 TERMS/EVENTS FROM THE SONG NOT 25 (Youtube and listen to song once before you start).
Course work for May 4th to May 8th:

So we're almost there, keep it up! So last week we covered JFK and LBJ (did you watch the Zapruder Film- yikes) so this week we're going to cover The Vietnam War.

For this week:
1.  View the powerpoint on The Vietnam War and fill in the guided notes as best you can.
2.  Read and complete that assignment on Top 100 songs of all time.  You can do this either in powerpoint (or Google slides form), or just answer the questions on a piece of paper.

*If you are especially interested in The Vietnam War, Ken Burns has a 10 part documentary that is currently on Netflix and it is BRILLIANT! Of course, I will give you extra credit if you watch any of them and do a write-up.
Well guys, this is it.  Your LAST assignment for U.S. History.  Since this will take you a bit longer, I'm counting this as the assignment for this week AND next week.  Follow the directions and take a picture of your timeline (or email it to me if you did it on a computer) and send it to me when you're done.

I have enjoyed teaching every single one of you this year.  I'm sorry our time together got cut short by the stupid 'Rona virus.  I hope to see a lot of you in my classes next year.  Good luck and email with with any questions or problems.

TEXTBOOK RETURN

If you have a textbook, please return it within the next 2 weeks so I don't have to fine you $75.  All textbooks can be returned to a cart located just inside the main entrance to the school building.  Attach a post-it with your name on it to the book and return it there.

Thank you!
