Assignment

Nov 3 (A) / 4 (B)
  1. Work in your Stock Market Game teams.
  2. You need to review your portfolio and make any trades you feel are needed and also conduct research on other items you'd like to invest in.
  3. You need to put together a presentation, one that your team will give to the class on Wednesday, of five minutes in length. Each person on the team needs to have a speaking role and well as a preparation and presentation role.  It should include, at minimum:
  4. Your portfolio strategy (ie: what does a security need to have in order for you to have it in their portfolio? Etc.)
  5. What is buying long? When would you want to do this?
  6. What is selling short? When would you want to do this?
  7. What position, long or short or combination, has your team decided to take? Why?
  8. What have you done throughout the first three weeks of the game? Use details about specific stocks - what did you buy and what happened to it? Then what did you do next?
  9. Why did you make each of the decisions you made? Again, use details about specific stocks: Why did you buy each stock? Was it a good idea? Why or why not?
  10. What did you learn from this experience, overall? If you could play again next year, what would you do the same and why? What would you do differently and why?
  11. What is each team members individual responsibility and what is the group’s goal during this ten week simulation?
  12. Give a convincing closing statement about how and why you are confident about what you are doing why you will win the contest?
  13. When preparing this presentation remember DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS!
