Assignment

Political participation is one of the most important elements of our democracy.  It would be a missed opportunity if you did not engage in government during your time in this class.  Your final assignment is an easy one - write a letter to a member of Congress from the state of Utah.

Your letter can address any issue you have with government, it can be critical of actions in Congress or the lack of action in Congress.  Start by thinking of something you are passionate about - does it require government action?  Is government doing something about it?  Use the information you have learned in this class to find an issue you would like your member of Congress to know about.

You can choose to write a letter to one of your senators or to your district representative.  You may click on any of their names below to send your letter to them.  You must also email me your letter (IT MUST BE A PDF file) by 3PM on May 28th.  ([email protected]

Attached are some suggestions on how to format your letter.
