Summer Driver Education 2026

1st Session – June 9, 11, 16 and 18

2nd Session – July 6, 8, 13 and 15

Summer Driver Education is offered to all students who will turn 16 BEFORE October 15th, 2026 and HAVE A LEARNER PERMIT.  If you do not have a learner permit by the Friday, before the first day, you will be turned away from the class and your spot will be offered to the next student on the waiting list.

To obtain a learner permit, go to https://dld.utah.gov/licensingid-cards/learner-permit/ and follow the directions.

You will need to register online.  The link for the google form will be on the Driver Education page on the Bingham website – binghamminers.org.  Your responses will be timestamped and the first 35 registrations will be accepted into the class.  Additional registrations will be added to a waiting list.  If someone drops out of the class, the first additional registration will be contacted.

Registration begins on Monday, March 9th for students in the Bingham Boundaries. On Monday, March 16th students that are non-enrolled at Bingham or outside of Bingham boundary may register if space is still available.

You will need a copy of your Birth Certificate or Learner permit, a completed registration form, and $160.00 class fee. A QR code will be given out to those accepted into the class for payment.

The course consists of 8 mandatory hours in class and 22 hours online.  Utah State Law requires 30 hours of education to be eligible for a Driver License.  It is important that you are aware of other conflicts (i.e. vacation, EFY, etc.) and plan accordingly. (If you miss a day, you will not be eligible to pass Driver Education and there will be no make-ups offered).

This class is not for everyone.  Students need to be highly motivated to do their work on their own.  We will provide recommended dates to complete assignments/tests, but it's up to students to complete the work.  There will be NO additional time given at the end of the class to turn in work.

Students will also receive Driving Range Instruction (6 hours) and Road Driving Instruction (3 hours). This instruction is also required to obtain a driver license.  This will be provided outside of the scheduled classroom time.

There will be two sessions offered.  You may sign up for and attend one or the other, but not both: Classroom C109 (Northeast corner of cafeteria)
