Dance 3

Dance 3 is an auditioned or teacher approval class. If you would like to audition for this class it is connected to Dance Company auditions. Dance Company Auditions May 12th and 13th. More information for auditions is on the Dance Company website. All Students seeking a teacher approval for the class will have had to take Dance 1 and Dance 2. You will then need approval by Mrs. Terrell to enter class.

Course Description:

In this Dance 3 course the students will gain an advanced and greater understanding of dance as an art form, the technical aspects, the elements of dance (body, energy, space, and time), and the creative process through the emphasis of modern dance. This course emphasizes and encourages sound practices of choreography, an increased sense of performance, technical skills, and opportunities for improvisation. Students have the opportunity to create their own dances, teach and work with their peers, and be a part of the creative process of putting on dance concerts. The material given is designed to help students improve overall in dance and provide performance opportunities. Be ready to dive into a new world of movement, innovative thought, and boundless creativity.
